About The School
Please read a
letter from the Chair of Governors.
Palmarsh Primary School is a thriving and friendly school in the beautiful Kent coastal town of Hythe. There is a strong sense of community, respect and trust running through our school and visitors always comment on our polite, enthusiastic children. This was noted by Ofsted who summarised "Palmarsh is a welcoming, caring and inclusive school." (Ofsted March 2016)
At Palmarsh we prioritise putting the whole child at the centre of our vision and we are looking to build on our recent successes. We look beyond the assessment and testing regime and actively encourage our children to explore their talents and passions, allowing them to grow their confidence and motivate them to be enthusiastic learners.
Our fantastic and dedicated staff are always striving to find new ways to develop and improve learning and outcomes for our children, and we are looking for a headteacher who has excellent interpersonal skills to inspire and progress our wonderful teachers even further.
We maintain a broad curriculum and ensure all pupils are given the opportunities to explore a wide range of subjects as well as encouraging extra-curricular activities, and offering children opportunities to broaden their life experiences. We have fabulous grounds which allow us to offer a lot of outdoor learning, and this is an area we continue to develop through our forest school.
We are looking for someone who will ensure the ethos and values of Palmarsh are maintained. Our new Headteacher needs be an excellent communicator who is visible and accessible to parents and children, building relationships and understanding our challenges. As a smaller
school our Headteacher takes on many roles and is required to be flexible in their approach.
