We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic full time teaching assistant with a positive 'can do' attitude to support our pupils with immediate effect.  This is a temporary contract to support our delightful pupils with their learning in our Year 5/6 class.

We need someone who has high expectations and a drive to improve outcomes for our learners. The applicant should be a good team player but also be self motivated and able to act upon their own initiative.  The applicant should understand that working in a small school often means going the extra mile without being asked, because it benefits the whole community - especially the pupils.  The ideal applicant should have a good understanding of child development and of how children learn and be able to enthuse, engage and challenge children in their learning journey.  High standards of personal numeracy and literacy are expected in order that our pupils benefit from these when being supported.

Information about the school

Langdon Primary School is in the small village of East Langdon between Deal and Dover. The school is very much part of the community and links with other groups are strong. Our Governing Body and parents are exceptionally supportive of the school. There is a positive ‘family’ feel amongst our 90 children and staff; older children are encouraged to take nurturing and leadership roles in order to ensure that everyone is valued and younger children learn from their older role models. We have a very positive ethos for learning and we put high expectations of achievement and progress at the heart of what we do. The school had its last Ofsted inspection in January 2020 and received a GOOD grading and a very positive, accurate report.
