At Sussex Road Primary School, we believe that good quality play is an incredibly element of a child's day.  To support us in ensuring every child has a happy lunchtime, we seek an enthusastic 'OPAL Leader'.  OPAL stands for Outodoor Play and Learning and is a programme that ensures that every child is enaged in high quality play and learning lunchtime.

The key purpose of this role is to set up games and activities for children to join in with, but to also encourage more reluctant children to take part.  The successful applicant would work with our team of OPAL Leaders and may be required to be flexible with their duties when necessary.

If you enjoy working with children, have a good sense of humour and communication skills, we welcome you to apply for this very satisfying role.  Experience would be benefical, but not essential.

The post is  for 7.5 hrs per week, 5 days a week, term time only, 12.05 - 1.20pm.  The additional hours are more flexible and allow staff to attend training or meetings.  This time is usually just before or just after the lunch duty.

 

 

Information about the school

Our popular, heavily over-subscribed school, which has 420 children on roll, is located near to the town centre of Tonbridge, about 5 minutes walk from the main line railway station.

We have 14 classes from Reception through to Year 6.

Our children are friendly and engaging; they are keen to learn and a pleasure to teach.
