We know that exceptional English practitioners are in high demand which is why we are offering a recruitment and retention bonus of £2,000 for the right candidate (£1,000 payable upon joining, and £1,000 payable after 1 year's service).

Are you wishing to empower your students with a love of words, communication and reading? Are you keen to keep developing your own subject knowledge? Are you someone who is always seeking to further develop and refine your own teaching skills? Are you  looking to collaborate and grow in a supportive and dedicated team?

We are delighted to have the opportunity to take on a new Teacher of English who loves reading, communicating, story-telling and writing, who believes that every student should  be given the best chance to succeed.

Our Department is going through an exciting time with the development of a new knowledge-rich curriculum. We are looking for a teacher who will bring their own dynamism, experience and a positive attitude to become a trusted and valued team  member.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of their students, strong subject  knowledge, resilience, compassion and a keen desire to learn and grow.

Working in a custom-built modern facility with spacious classrooms and a dedicated office  for the English team, we strive to give our students the cultural literacy, deep thinking, communication and grammar skills they need to be able to tackle their exams and the world  after school.

This position would suit an Early Career Teacher, a teacher looking for their first move or an  experienced teacher in search of a collaborative and innovative department.

The Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is a very special place to work and pre-application visits or phone calls are both encouraged and welcomed. If you would like to arrange to discuss the role with a member of the team, please contact Mrs Nicki Riddle, Principals’ PA at nicki.riddle@lahughchristie.org.uk or 01732 353544 ext 242.
