We currently have a vacancy for an attendance officer at Kent Range 6 (32.75 hours per week Term Time Only plus inset days). This is a one year fixed term contract. 

Kent Range 6 FTE £25,127.00 - £26,383.00 (Pro-rota)

In addition to the above the roles will also receive SENA (Special Educational Needs Allowance) currently at pro rota of £1441.72

Laleham Gap School is looking to appoint a highly reliable and efficient Attendance Officer to join our wonderful, dedicated and highly effective team. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children with SEND.

Your role will be to help the school raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality through developing an understanding of the various individual reasons for non-attendance and through working in partnership with students, parents and external agencies.  You will be working within our Wellbeing Team and supporting children throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Be a positive role model, supporting students and their individual needs
  • Relate well to pupils and have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high level of emotional support and communicate effectively
  • Show experience and passion in supporting Pupil Wellbeing
  • Interact effectively and sensitively with young people
  • Have experience of working with children with autism and speech language and communication difficulties
  • Interact confidently with parents and external agencies
  • Have a high level of communication, Literacy and IT skills with knowledge of Arbor an advantage.
  • Experience of working in a school, with a knowledge of school-based systems

Information about the school

Laleham Gap is a Communication and Interaction Special School. We have pupils aged from 4 to 18 years of age. Most of our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Most pupils will achieve some GCSEs or equivalent at age 16.
