We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with ASD needs. The pupil will need support accessing learning within the classroom which is differentiated to suit their cognitive abilities.

The successful applicant will be employed on a permanent contract linked to the pupil (i.e. the contract remains whilst the pupil is at our school and / or whilst High Needs Funding is in place for the child), for 18 hours per week over the five school days as shown in the table below.  It is paid on Kent Range 3 pro rata, term time only.  Appointment will be from as soon as available.

The main tasks include:

- differentiating and personalising work for the pupil to suit their ability and interests

- motivating and supporting the pupil

- close liaison with class teacher and SEN team.

Sandling is a popular, high achieving, 2 form entry primary school in the north of Maidstone.

The school is well resourced with many facilities including: a library, computing suite and extensive grounds with a wildlife and outdoor learning area. We offer a wide variety of clubs for children to enrich their learning.

We had a one day OFSTED inspection in Feb 2020 with a good outcome which confirmed our high expectations and standards.

With easy access from the M20, and being situated less than 3 miles from Maidstone centre, the school is easily accessible by road.
