Grade: D2 - Salary: FTE £23,114 to £25,979 per annum (pro rata £16182.39 - £18188.21) + SEN Allowance (£1,455)

Location: The Marlborough, Hoo, Kent (shared site with Hoo St Werburgh Primary School)

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Part Time/Term Time (Monday to Friday)

Hours: 30.25 hours per week. 39 weeks per year.

The Marlborough is part of the Rivermead Inclusive Trust and due to a recent expansion we are seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants to work as part of our vibrant and specialised team. We are a specialist primary provision for 80 children with complex needs on the autistic spectrum.  We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, creative and inspirational staff to join our team.

The Marlborough has developed into a more specialist provision enjoying newly created therapy spaces including sensory play rooms and a bespoke playground area.  We pride ourselves on being able to offer every child an individualised curriculum based on their priority needs.  Enrichment activities such as horse riding and forest school visits further enhance our curriculum.  We believe every child is capable and deserving of the very best in teaching and learning.  We work as one team to fulfil this aim across The Marlborough.

Essential:

• All candidates must have Level 2 qualifications (i.e. GCSE grade C and above or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Due to the conditions and complex needs of the pupils at The Marlborough, continuity and consistency of support is vitally important. Therefore, candidates will need to commit to full working hours of the post.
• A willingness to provide personal care and hygiene for children as required.

Desired:

• Additional relevant qualifications in SEN or child development would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.
• Experience of childcare/school settings
• Experience of Autism/SEN

Hoo St Werburgh Primary School & The Marlborough share the inclusive ethos of the Rivermead Inclusive Trust. We aim to instil in our pupils an enthusiasm for learning and an interest in the world around them. We celebrate every aspect of our pupils’ learning from their social and emotional development and life skills acquisition to the national curriculum subjects of reading, writing, maths and more. We are also fortunate enough to have an in- school Forest School which all of our children have access to as part of our curriculum. There are over 480 children on roll in the main school, with two classes per year group in the main school. We also have an established nursery class attached to the school which offers fantastic provision to two, three and four olds from the Hoo area. The Marlborough caters for 85 children within their specialist setting. As you can see, Hoo St Werburgh is an exciting place to work and one where the needs of the child sits at the centre of everything we do.
