We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant from September (4 days a week, Monday to Thursday) to cover PPA. The successful candidate will work effectively with whole classes to cover teachers’ and leaders’ PPA and management/leadership time, covering a range of subjects across the curriculum across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 in addition to other general teaching assistant roles as and when required.

The ideal candidate will :-

  • Be qualified to Level 2 or 3 Diploma level (or equivalent)
  • Desirable to be working at or towards professional standards for HLTA
  • Have relevant experience of covering classes
  • Be a good team player, flexible and prepared to use their initiative
  • Be committed to their own professional development
  • Have good interpersonal skills and organisational skills
  • Support the ethos and wider life of the school
  • Have high expectations of all children and an ability to inspire children in their learning
  • Ability to insist on high standards of behaviour and academic outcomes, enabling all pupils to flourish
  • Ability to use a variety of strategies to engage and support all children in their learning
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people

Offham Primary is a rural school with 7 classes and is located approximately 3 miles from the town of West Malling.
