The position involves being a part of a dedicated and successfuly team who are committed to 'making a difference' to children and young people with SEMH/ASC and learning difficulties.

St Anthony's is committed to providing high quality PE teaching for our children and young people and we are able to provide excellent facilities to support thier learning.

We are looking for a teacher with experience of working with pupils who SEMH/ASC, however a passion and resilience for working in this sector is more important.  The role will be teaching across the school, KS2 to KS4.

The ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues is essential.

Our staff work closely with pupils and families to create an ethos of care, respect and success.  At St Anthony's we feel strongly that our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced, inclusive and learner focued curriculum, which will develop our young people to be successful in later life.

In line with KCSIE 2022 guidance, as part of the shortlisting process St Anthony's reserves the right to conduct an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence and to share pertinent information found concerning a candidate's suitability to work with children with the headteacher.

Information about the school

St. Anthony’s is a designated KCC special school for pupils with an EHCP with a main need of SEMH and/or ASC in KS2 -KS4. We are a partner school in Kent Special Educational Needs Trust.

The school works to meet and support a wide range of barriers to learning. Our children and young people have high levels of social emotional issues and communication difficulties, staff need to be able to build positive relationships with them and provide a diverse and stimulating education, in a supportive and safe environment.

Most pupils come to the school with negative previous school experiences and traditionally from a background with high levels of deprivation. To achieve positive outcomes for our pupils we place a great deal of emphasis on individual programmes within small group settings. Past OfSTED reports, parental feedback and other professionals agree that we are very successful with our pupils; our skills in building positive relationships with children and young people helps us reinforce this message.
