Discover the opportunity to become a Lead Practitioner - IT/Computing at Leigh Academy Minster and take the helm in elevating standards and enhancing teaching and learning within our academy. As an integral member of our leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in translating our academy's vision into exemplary classroom practices, fostering a culture of excellence across all aspects of IT and Computing education.

Your core responsibilities will revolve around formulating and executing strategies for teaching and learning, curriculum development, professional growth initiatives, and fostering collaborative teamwork among staff. You'll inspire active student engagement by establishing high expectations, delivering outstanding lessons, and cultivating an environment that ignites a passion for learning. Leading the charge in IT/Computing, you'll implement tailored systems and procedures to optimise teaching and learning outcomes within the subject. Furthermore, you'll deliver top-notch lessons, mentor colleagues, and strategically analyse data to drive continuous improvement.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A degree in IT, Computing, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience as an effective classroom practitioner in comprehensive schools
  • A strong commitment to extra-curricular and enrichment activities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the national curriculum in IT/Computing
  • A track record of implementing successful strategies to enhance achievement and disseminate best practices
  • Evidence of enabling students to excel and reach their highest potential
  • Strong organisational and collaborative skills
  • Leadership experience and a demonstrated capacity for teamwork
  • Excellent punctuality and a commitment to Equal Opportunities
  • Ambition and readiness for further career advancement

The basis of this role is full-time, permanent and offering a salary of leadership scale commensurate with experience. Interveiws for this position will take place on Monday 13th May.
