We are looking to appoint an excellent class teacher to join our STEPS learning pathway, which support students with autism, learning needs and significant social emotional needs. 

Our ideal candidate will:

Be unfazed by challenging behaviour and recognise it as a communciation of need.  

Be skilled at understanding how to use the learning environment, resources and the class team to ensure that students made good progress in the development of their communication, emotional regulation and learning skills. 

Design and deliver individualised lessons and learning activities that cater to the unique needs of students with complex ASD and SEMH needs.

Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.

Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop a comprehensive individualised program based on each students EHC plan and ensure a holistic approach to student development and well-being.

Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school values.

Implement effective proactive strategies to manage and support behavioural challenge

For the candiate with the right experience and skills there is the opportinty to join our established Behaviour Support Team (TLR2a) who support collegues across ther school in all aspects of managing challlenging behavour, including:

Leading training, as a Proact- SCIPr instructor

Writing and reviewing well-being support plans

Tracking and analysing behvaour incidents 

Providing support, guidance and modelling to colleagues
